Dinner was mostly good, but we’ve noticed that some of the menu items don’t live up to their description. The Ketchikan Fisherman’s Chowder is an example – “halbut, salmon, cod, shrimp, thyme, celery, red-skin potato and corn braised in a creamy clam soup” was starchy, grainy and 3 pieces of unidentifiable seafood floating in a bowl of potato and corn. But the braised short ribs, the shank and the salmon were all good, and I loved the Sourdough Bread Pudding.
We left Juneau with a gorgeous sunset of pinks and orange seeing us off.
The weather made a great day even better, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for tomorrow. It’s going to be a short night – the sun gets up at 3:50 a.m. tomorrow morning! Since we have an early Skagway excursion up into the Yukon, we calling it an early night.
