Most people looked pretty good – even a few tuxedos!
We watched a new show, “Northern Lights” an Alaskan themed new show with some great visuals and lighting. A lot of fun, a little bit tongue in cheek, and something we hadn’t seen any more. Our favorite segment was the riff on the Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald love duet, which became a trio when a moose showed up. There were three showtimes, so we were able to catch a show before dinner.
The food was a big improvement over the first night. The menu:
The cheese selection has been good, some very nice cheeses artfully arranged, but what’s up with the graham crackers?
This cruise, which has a large contingent of Australians, has been more lively than many HAL cruises, with the Piano Bar, Ocean Bar, and Crows Nest all full and fun. We went up to the Crows Nest for 50s and 60s “Name that tune” trivia. With a score of 18 out of 32, we stayed solidly in mediocre level territory. But Jenny & the HALcats were playing some great music, she sings very well and there were a lot of people up and dancing – including Mom.
Off to bed as the sun comes up tomorrow morning at 4:07 am!
